AXL+ inflammatory type 3 dendritic cells drive dysbiosis-associated autoimmunity

Intestinal dysbiosis is linked to extra-intestinal autoimmunity, yet the cellular mediators remain unclear. We identify an AXL+ inflammatory DC3 subset that expands in response to specific microbial signals, migrates to draining lymph nodes, and primes autoreactive T cells. Genetic or antibody-mediated targeting of the GAS6–AXL axis ameliorates disease in multiple models.
