背景

Phosphoglucomutase-like protein 5 (PGM5) is a ~62 kDa protein. Component of adherens-type cell-cell and cell-matrix junctions. Positively regulates maturation and alignment of myofibrils, also promotes organization of sarcomeres. Has no phosphoglucomutase activity in vitro.
