背景

Serotonin N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) is a ~23 kDa protein. Controls the night/day rhythm of melatonin production in the pineal gland. Catalyzes the N-acetylation of serotonin into N-acetylserotonin, the penultimate step in the synthesis of melatonin.
