Hyaluronidase-2 (HYAL2) is a ~53 kDa protein. Catalyzes hyaluronan degradation into small fragments that are endocytosed and degraded in lysosomes by HYAL1 and exoglycosidases. Essential for the breakdown of extracellular matrix hyaluronan.
