背景

Lysine-specific demethylase 4E (KDM4E) is a ~56 kDa protein. Histone demethylase that demethylates trimethylated 'Lys-9' of histone H3 into monomethylated form, thereby playing a central role in histone code. Also demethylates trimethylated 'Lys-56' of histone H3 (H3K9me3) to generate the monomethylated state (H3K56me1).
