背景

Geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase (GGPS1) is a ~34 kDa protein. Catalyzes the trans-addition of the three molecules of IPP onto DMAPP to form geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate, an important precursor of carotenoids and geranylated proteins.
