背景

Dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase [NADP(+)] (DPYD) is a ~111 kDa protein. Involved in pyrimidine base degradation. Catalyzes the reduction of uracil and thymine. Also involved the degradation of the chemotherapeutic drug 5-fluorouracil.
