3-ketodihydrosphingosine reductase (KDSR) is a ~36 kDa protein. Catalyzes the reduction of 3'-oxosphinganine (3-ketodihydrosphingosine/KDS) to sphinganine (dihydrosphingosine/DHS), the second step of de novo sphingolipid biosynthesis.
