背景

Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMT) is a ~30 kDa protein. Catalyzes the transmethylation of nonepinephrine (noradrenaline) to form epinephrine (adrenaline), using S-adenosyl-L-methionine as the methyl donor. Other substrates include phenylethanolamine and octopamine. Also methylates normetanephrine.
