背景

Adhesin P1 (mgpA) is a ~176 kDa protein. Part of major adhesin Nap complex of the attachment organelle which mediates attachment to host ciliated epithelium and plays a major role in gliding motility. This protein and P40/P90 mutually stabilize each other. The 3 adhesin proteins are required for formation of the attachment organelle.
