背景

Acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 3, mitochondrial (ACSS3) is a ~74 kDa protein. Catalyzes the synthesis of acetyl-CoA from short-chain fatty acids. Propionate is the preferred substrate. Can utilize acetate and butyrate with a much lower affinity.
