This antibody targets mouse CD54 (ICAM-1) using clone YN1/1.7.4, a rat IgG2b kappa monoclonal raised against the mouse antigen. It is a widely used, well-characterized reagent for studying leukocyte adhesion, trafficking, and inflammation in the mouse. The rat IgG2b format is a common host/isotype combination for in-vivo mouse work, and YN1/1.7.4 has a long history in functional adhesion-blocking and cell-migration studies as well as flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, and frozen-section IHC. This preparation is supplied low-endotoxin (research grade less than 1 EU/mg; ultra-low-endotoxin option less than 0.5 EU/mg) and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities, making it suited to in-vivo administration and repeat-dosing regimens where endotoxin contamination could confound inflammatory and immune readouts. It is provided for research use only (RUO). Investigators typically choose YN1/1.7.4 when they need to interrogate ICAM-1-dependent adhesion and immune-cell recruitment, or to block CD54 function in models of inflammation, autoimmunity, transplantation, and tumor immunology. CD54, better known as ICAM-1 (intercellular adhesion molecule 1), is a cell-surface glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily with five extracellular Ig-like domains. It is expressed at low levels on endothelium, epithelium, and leukocytes and is strongly upregulated by inflammatory cytokines such as TNF, IL-1, and IFN-gamma. ICAM-1 is a principal ligand for the beta-2 integrins LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18) on leukocytes, and these interactions mediate firm adhesion to activated endothelium, transendothelial migration, and the formation of the immunological synapse between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. Through these functions ICAM-1 is central to leukocyte trafficking to sites of inflammation, T-cell activation and costimulation, and antigen-specific immune responses. ICAM-1 also serves as a receptor exploited by certain pathogens. Its inducible expression and adhesive role make it an important target in inflammation, autoimmunity, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and transplantation biology.

The CD54 antigen is present on endothelial cells, lymphocytes, epithelial cells, dendritic cells and keratinocytes. It has been demonstrated that ICAM-1 enhances T-cell activation.
