背景

CD8+ T cells (cytotoxic T lymphocytes) are a key effector subset of adaptive immunity, mediating direct killing of virally infected and tumor cells through recognition of antigen presented on MHC class I. Their cytotoxic function and activation state are highly sensitive to the isolation method used, making unmanipulated recovery essential for downstream functional assays. The Ichorbio Untouched Human CD8+ T Cell Isolation Kit purifies human CD8+ T cells from PBMCs via column-free negative (untouched) selection, using a biotinylated antibody cocktail and magnetic beads to label and sequester non-target cells, allowing untouched CD8+ T cells to be recovered directly from the supernatant. This yields untouched CD8+ T cells with purity up to 93.8%, free of surface-bound antibodies or beads and suitable for cytotoxicity assays and other functional studies requiring non-activated, unmanipulated cells.

CD8 is expressed on cytotoxic/suppressor T lymphocytes, a subset of NK cells, and thymocyte subsets.
