This is a recombinant pig (Sus scrofa domesticus) CD32a protein, the extracellular region of the low-affinity Fc gamma receptor IIa (FCGR2A, reference XP_020945179.1), expressed in human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells. Mammalian HEK293 expression supports native-like folding and post-translational modification, including glycosylation, which is important for authentic Fc-receptor binding behaviour. As an ultra-low endotoxin, in-vivo-grade recombinant protein rather than an antibody, it is well suited to functional and binding studies where contaminating endotoxin would otherwise confound cell-based readouts or in-vivo work. It is validated for surface plasmon resonance (SPR), bio-layer interferometry (BLI), and ELISA, making it appropriate for measuring IgG Fc-binding kinetics and affinity, screening engineered Fc variants, and characterising antibody-receptor interactions in a porcine context. Supplied at research-use-only (RUO) grade and available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities, it fits both assay development and larger campaigns such as biologic engineering or cross-species comparative Fc-receptor profiling. Note that this is a protein, not an in-vivo dosing antibody. CD32a (FcgammaRIIa, encoded by FCGR2A) is a low-affinity activating receptor for the Fc region of IgG. It is a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein whose cytoplasmic tail carries an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM), which signals upon receptor cross-linking by immune complexes or opsonised targets. In humans it is broadly expressed on myeloid and phagocytic cells, including monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, dendritic cells, and on platelets. Engagement drives phagocytosis, antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, degranulation, respiratory burst, and cytokine release, linking humoral responses to effector-cell activation. The pig (Sus scrofa) orthologue was characterised more recently in minipig immunogenetics work, and porcine FcgammaR biology is of interest given the pig's growing role as a translational and xenotransplantation model. Recombinant pig CD32a is a useful reagent for probing how porcine or engineered IgG engages activating Fc receptors.
