| 别名 | E1-L2, EC:6.2.1.45, MOP-4, MOP4, Monocyte protein 4, UBA6, UBE1L2, Ubiquitin-activating enzyme 6, Ubiquitin-activating enzyme E1-like protein 2, Ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 6 |
| 背景 | Ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 6 is a ~117 kDa protein. Activates ubiquitin by first adenylating its C-terminal glycine residue with ATP, and thereafter linking this residue to the side chain of a cysteine residue in E1, yielding a ubiquitin-E1 thioester and free AMP. Specific for ubiquitin, does not activate ubiquitin-like peptides. Also activates UBD/FAT10 conjugation via adenylation of its C-terminal glycine. Differs from UBE1 in its specificity for substrate E2 charging. Does not charge cell cycle E2s, such as CDC34. 1. Truongvan, N. et al. (2022) Nature communications 13, 4789. PMID: 35970836 2.
