The antibody has been enzymatically digested to remove the Fc region, leaving the divalent F(ab')2 fragment; this reduces nonspecific binding to Fc receptors and to protein A/G, which is useful on cells, tissues, and Fc-receptor-bearing samples. Cross-adsorption against immunoglobulins from other common species lowers cross-reactivity and improves specificity in multi-label or multi-species experiments. The horseradish peroxidase (HRP) conjugate enables colorimetric or chemiluminescent readout with substrates such as TMB, DAB, or ECL.
