This is a bulk-format, research-grade monoclonal antibody (clone 4G7, mouse IgG1 kappa) raised against human CD19. Clone 4G7 is a widely referenced anti-human CD19 antibody used across flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, functional B-cell assays, and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) research where CD19 serves as the archetypal target antigen. Produced as a mouse host antibody with defined isotype, it is suited to functional and cell-based work requiring consistent lot performance and larger quantities. The antibody is offered at low endotoxin levels (research grade <1 EU/mg), supporting sensitive primary-cell and functional assays where endotoxin contamination can confound results. CD19 is a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed throughout most of B-cell development, from pro-B/pre-B stages through mature B cells, but lost upon terminal plasma-cell differentiation. It functions as a positive co-receptor that lowers the threshold for B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, associating with CD21, CD81, and CD225 in the B-cell co-receptor complex. Upon engagement, its cytoplasmic tyrosine residues are phosphorylated and recruit PI3K and other effectors, amplifying BCR-driven activation, proliferation, and survival. Because its expression is highly restricted to the B lineage and is retained on most B-cell malignancies, CD19 is a leading immunotherapy target, underpinning CD19-directed CAR-T cells and bispecific antibodies. Its consistent lineage expression also makes it a core marker for identifying and gating B cells in immunophenotyping.
