背景

Prominin-1 (CD133/PROM1) is a ~97 kDa protein. May play a role in cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis. Binds cholesterol in cholesterol-containing plasma membrane microdomains and may play a role in the organization of the apical plasma membrane in epithelial cells. During early retinal development acts as a key regulator of disk morphogenesis. Involved in regulation of MAPK and Akt signaling pathways. In neuroblastoma cells suppresses cell differentiation such as neurite outgrowth in a RET-dependent manner.

  • Flow-cytometry

    Flow-cytometry using anti- human CD133 antibody.
    Human CACO-2 cell line were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Gray Histogram) or an anti- human CD133 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HT495107 , Red Histogram) at a concentration of 20 ug/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-human antibody (Catalog # HF690414 ) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
